⇲ Hannah Arendt : Facing tyranny

Hannah Arendt levde i Tyskland til hun i 1933,som jøde , måtte flykte. Først til Paris frem til 1941 så til USA.
Særlig kjent er hun for bøkene The Origins of Totalitarianism, 1951 - og Eichmann in Jerusalem: A report on the banality of evil, 1963.
Bokens undertittel, som ofte har blitt misforstått, karakteriserer ikke handlingene som banale, men derimot dets motiver: De mest grusomme handlinger kan bunne i tankeløshet, en feil i evnen til å tenke, framholder Arendt. (fra SNL)
